BHK is an abbreviation frequently used in the world of Indian real estate to describe apartments. It stands for Bedroom, Hall and Kitchen area, and is preceded by the number of rooms. Some examples are:

= one room apartment with dining and kitchen area
1BHK  
= one room apartment with a living, dining and kitchen area 

In addition, all the apartments come with a bathroom and a toilet .The following are the repeating fees associated with renting an apartment:
  • Rent
    The actual rent is paid monthly, usually through automatic  /cheque /cash. It is due before the start of a new month.
  • Utilities
    In case of conventional apartments, the cost for  utilities such as gas ,electricity and telephone, newspaper bill is not included in the rent. The opposite is sometimes true in case of companies that specifically target foreigners.
  • Maintenance fee
    In case of some apartments, a small monthly maintenance fee for expenses shared by all tenants of a building may have to be paid.
Factors affecting cost of apartment

Location: Apartments cost is location affected. If it is in the center of the city or in well developed area of the city, it may be expensive. Difference between cost to apartments in the suburbs or even neighboring prefectures can be very large.

Size: The most affecting cost factor i.e. whether it is 1 BHK, 2 BHK etc.

Other Services: Likewise furniture of house, curtains, carpets or you can say a fully furnished apartment.
